Toure insists the title is not Man City’s yet

MANCHESTER: Yaya Toure scored a double to put Manchester City on course for the title — but immediately warned of some hard work ahead.

Toure’s brace earned an impressive 2-0 win at Newcastle today. Meaning, that barring any mathematical miracles, a win over QPR next weekend will earn Roberto Mancini’s men the championship.

The Ivory Coast midfi elder, though, was not prepared to look too far ahead, despite acknowledging the signifi cance of today’s result.

“It’s not finished,” he told Sky Sports 1.

“We have one game left and we have to be careful as QPR are fi ghting to stay in the Premier League.
“We have to continue to work hard and believe.

“The manager told me to deliver today because it was an important game.

“Newcastle are a physical and strong team, but we need to keep improving. This is brilliant for us, though.”

Mancini was also quick to sound a note of caution.

“I hope (this is enough) but I think that it is not,” he added.

“We have another game — a diffi cult one.

“Newcastle was diffi cult but I think we deserved to win, but it was a diffi cult game.

“But I will only feel confi dent after QPR.”
