Follow Update on Nayati Safe Return - Nayati found in Rawang, police alerted

KUALA LUMPUR (May 3, 2012): Nayati Shamelin Moodliar, 12, who was abducted last week, was found early this morning by members of the public who alerted police.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohmad Salleh said Nayati was found at 7.55am today at the Sungai Buloh Rest and Recreation stop.

"Physically, he's okay as there are no injuries on him," he said. Mohmad said police were still investigating and a press conference on the case would be held at 3pm today.

This morning, the Moodliar family announced on their Facebook page - 'Please help us to find Nayati Moodliar' that he had safely returned home. The short update read: "We have got NAYATI back!!! He is back to our arms again! Thank you all for your support! "

In a press release posted on the page, the family said although Nayati had gone through a very traumatic time, he was in good shape.

"We cannot begin to say how proud we are of him and the way that he has coped with the events of the past week," they said in the statement.

The family said that as Nayati's kidnapping is the subject of an ongoing investigation, they are not at liberty to reveal any details of the case at this stage.

The 12-year-old Dutch boy who was on his way to the Mont Kiara International School (MKIS), near his home, was abducted by two men in a black car last Friday.

Nayati, who was in his school uniform, was grabbed by his abductors at about 7.35 am just a short distance from his school.

After news of Nayati's safe return appeared on news websites and social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, members of the media started to gather at the family's home in Mont Kiara here, a spokesperson told the theSun when contacted.

She said a press conference will be held tomorrow, but the venue had not been decided upon yet.
